New Opportunities, Fresh Momentum, And What’s Ahead.

Welcome

For some, it’s back to work. For others, the Easter break is still in full swing.

Whether it’s holidays, away days, or simply taking a well-earned pause, it’s been good to see people taking time to recharge. In my case, with the kids still off, we’re very much still in Easter mode, but looking ahead to getting back into the rhythm next week.

I’m looking forward to reconnecting with clients, picking up conversations, and building momentum again.

A quick reminder as well, the Engineering Talent Awards nominations are closing very soon, with the deadline set for Friday 24th April.

NEW Training Website

Last week I mentioned that we were building a dedicated training platform.

I’m pleased to share that it is now live.

We now have 40+ courses available, designed for different audiences, levels and delivery formats, whether in-house or online. This is a big step for us in making our training offer more accessible and structured, and I’m excited to start sharing more of this in the coming weeks.

Course Spotlight: Engineering for the Energy Transition

This is a half-day, engineer-led executive immersion designed for finance, investment and advisory professionals working on energy transition projects.

Trillions are being deployed globally across technologies such as wind, hydrogen, carbon capture, batteries and sustainable fuels, yet many of the decision-makers involved do not come from an engineering background. This creates a gap, where critical technical and safety risks are often interpreted second-hand.

This course bridges that gap.

Rather than teaching engineering, it equips leaders with practical engineering lenses and decision tools to strengthen judgement, challenge assumptions, and make more informed investment decisions.

If you’re working at the intersection of finance and engineering, this is a powerful addition to your toolkit.

Event Hosting & Facilitation

We’ve also recently launched a new service at EqualEngineers focused on event hosting and facilitation.

This includes both myself and Fayon Dixon as hosts, bringing a combination of technical insight, storytelling, and audience engagement to events across engineering, safety and leadership.

Whether it’s conferences, panels, awards or workshops, we’re now offering support to help organisations create more engaging, inclusive and impactful experiences.

This Week on The SAFE Leader Podcast

This week I sat down with Dr Lucy Rogers, engineer, author and science communicator, for a wide-ranging and genuinely inspiring conversation.

Lucy shares her journey from mechanical engineering and industrial research into storytelling, public engagement and writing — showing how curiosity and creativity can shape a career in unexpected ways.

We explore the importance of communication in engineering, why making technical ideas accessible matters, and how fun and professionalism can — and should — coexist.

Lucy also shares insights from her latest work, including global research into the science of the sky and engineering in extreme environments, from Antarctica to space.

It’s a conversation about resilience, reinvention and what becomes possible when you connect ideas across disciplines.
