Welcome
Since launching nominations for the Engineering Talent Awards 2026 last week, we’ve already seen some incredible entries come through, and we’re just getting started!
Do you know someone shaping a more inclusive future for engineering and tech? Is there a team, initiative, or organisation you admire?
Now’s the time to recognise them. Or even nominate yourself. Click below to submit your entry today.

STEM Leader in Attitude 101!

I’m incredibly proud to have been named a category leader in the STEM list of Attitude 101, recognising 101 influential LGBTQ+ figures across sectors.
This recognition means a lot, both personally and professionally. It’s a reminder of how far we’ve come and how important it is to keep creating inclusive, psychologically safe spaces across STEM and engineering.
“Dr Mark McBride-Wright MBE is reshaping how engineering thinks about culture, safety and leadership.”
– Attitude Magazine, 2026
Thanks to everyone who’s supported my journey so far!
Tomorrow’s Engineers LIVE

Earlier this week, I attended Tomorrow’s Engineers LIVE in London, organised by EngineeringUK, and it gave me plenty to think about.
With lightning talks, apprentice panels, an unconference session, and meaningful conversations on social value and gender pathways, it was an energising day of learning and reflection.
Hats off to the team at EngineeringUK for a fantastic event. Lots of fresh ideas brewing for EqualEngineers…
This Week on The SAFE Leader Podcast
This week on The SAFE Leader Podcast, I’m joined by Sarah Ischer, Senior Director of Expertise at the What Works Institute and a powerful advocate for human-centred safety.
Early in her career, a hydrochloric acid pipe rupture changed everything and set Sarah on a path to transform how organisations think about health and safety.
In this deeply personal episode, we explore:
Why safety is not common sense
How metrics often miss the humans behind them
The difference between doing safety to people versus with people
What it means to build trust and inclusion into every system

Please reach out and connect with me on LinkedIn if we are not already connected.
I love helping organisations where the angle I take with the work I do might help in someway have you make traction in your culture.
Feel free to get in touch here.
