Highlighting Men’s Mental Health in Safety, Leadership, and Culture
Welcome
Yesterday I delivered my final Leading Leaders training session of the year for EDF, my 16th session since we began over four years ago! This programme remains one of my favourites to facilitate. It's tightly aligned with The SAFE Leader framework and always sparks meaningful conversations on inclusive leadership and safety culture.
If your organisation is exploring how to strengthen leadership at every level, particularly around inclusion, mental health, and trust, get in touch. I’d love to bring this training to your team in 2026.

Men’s Mental Health in Engineering

This week, as we mark International Men’s Day (19 November), I wanted to bring attention back to a webinar I delivered earlier this year with IEEE, tackling the urgent mental health crisis in engineering and construction.
With two construction workers dying by suicide every day in the U.S., we must move beyond compliance and cultivate cultures where men can speak openly, without shame or fear. In the session, I explored how we can embed psychological safety in engineering cultures using The SAFE Leader framework, Share, Act, Feel, Empower, to break the stigma and redefine strength through vulnerability and connection.
Two Episodes on Positive Masculinity
This week, we’re revisiting two essential episodes of The SAFE Leader Podcast, both aligned with the values of International Men’s Day. Each episode offers a powerful perspective on what it means to lead with empathy, vulnerability, and courage, especially in male-majority environments.
Dr. I. David Daniels
A conversation on male trauma, psychological safety in the fire service, and the human cost of silence in “tough” workplace cultures.

I love helping organisations where the angle I take with the work I do might help in someway have you make traction in your culture.
